Vocational Certificate in English as a Second Language

English is the language that the world uses to communicate. In recent years we have experienced how advances in technology have meant an increasing development in the learning and teaching of the English language.

American National University offers a six-level, Vocational Certificate in English as a Second Language program designed for students who possess prior education, training, skills, or professional experience and seek to strengthen their English language proficiency for professional or career advancement. The curriculum provides comprehensive instruction in Reading, Writing, Grammar, Listening, Speaking, and Vocabulary across progressive levels of learning.

Each level builds upon the previous level, enabling students to further develop the English communication skills necessary to apply their existing knowledge and abilities in a professional and workplace setting.

Upon successful completion of this non-degree program, students will be able to:

    1. Achieve English fluency sufficient for conversational skills in American English-speaking culture.
    2. Master academic and cultural skills necessary for success in an American English-speaking College or University.
    3. Earn a successful IELTS or TOEFL score that allows for admission to the student’s College or University of choice.
